The Metropolitan Fire Association is a federally registered not for profit corporation established in 1976. We were the first fire explorer post in the nation with our own fire apparatus and have become the model for other Explorer Posts around the country. One our most important goals to create a better understanding of Fire Safety & Fire Prevention.
The Explorers name has been changed to Venture Post, which now accepts male and female members between the ages of 14 through 18 years of age and adults 18 or older. Some of the events the Venture post youths train in are fundamentals of firefighting, law, CPR, first-aid, and emergency preparedness, they also participate in parades, musters and special events in addition to preparing for civil service exams. All training and events are supervised by fully trained adults.
